A word from our Chair of the Board

Let’s support the school perseverance of our students!

The crisis caused by the pandemic, starting at the beginning of 2020, has hit hard the most vulnerable families in society. Young people living in OMHM housing have been particularly affected by the direct and indirect consequences of the pandemic, further exacerbating social inequalities.

The impact of this crisis on the academic progress and motivation of these youngsters is major. Many of them face the risk of losing motivation, failing or even choosing to enter the job market prematurely, thereby increasing the already sad dropout rate statistics.

Tomorrow’s society and the future of its youth depend on access to education. Promoting school perseverance is, without a doubt, the most productive investment we can make to secure a bright collective future.

Despite numerous challenges, these young people can succeed for they are talented, persevering and ambitious. It has therefore become more important than ever to support them in concrete ways and ensure the pursuit of their dreams. This is why the Foundation is working to help these students pursue their studies, in particular by funding perseverance scholarships and community projects that encourage them to stay in school. These various opportunities help them lay a solid foundation for their future.

In closing, I would like to sincerely thank our loyal donors and partners who, through their support and trust, empower the Foundation to make a real difference in the lives of the almost 10,000 young people that we support.
