Failing to hold a traditional benefit event, the Foundation joined forces with Éducaide to organize a virtual holiday auction. It was a unique opportunity to prepare gifts while helping many young people persevere in their studies and reach their full potential.

This activity enabled the Foundation to raise close to $18,000. We thank all participants for their generosity.

The Fondation de l'Office municipal d'habitation de Montréal (FOMHM) is pleased to invite you to the 9th edition of its spring benefit cocktail, to be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, starting at 5 p.m. in the unique atmosphere of the Entrepôts Dominion.

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to this event, which will take place under the honorary presidency of Mr. Gilles Brassard, President of Groupe Geyser. During the evening, you'll have the chance to discover the group QW4RTZ, made up of four young men with upwardly mobile careers! One of a kind, QW4RTZ will make you laugh, dance, sing and vibrate to the sound of their vocal harmonies. What's more, 12 young people from the Coup de pouce jeunesse organization will be performing a very special show for the occasion.

Under the theme À l'unisson pour les jeunes, the Foundation wishes to continue its mission with the 10,000 or so young people living in low-income housing. Together, let's support them in their development, prove to them that we believe in their abilities, give them the means to follow through on their projects and dreams so that they can surpass themselves.

The members of the QW4RTZ group invite you to the event in this video capsule.

It was with great excitement that fourteen courageous participants flew to Morocco on August 5 to embark on a twelve-day trek to the summit of North Africa's highest mountain. At the end of the expedition, on August 14, 13 of the 14 hikers reached the summit of Mount Toubkal, which rises to 4,170 meters.

This great adventure raised nearly $91,000, which will be donated to the Fondation de l'Office municipal d'habitation de Montréal so that it can pursue its mission of encouraging young people from low-income housing projects to persevere in their studies and become actively involved in Montreal and Quebec society.

The group was made up of colleagues and friends from different backgrounds who take the OMHM Foundation's mission to heart. We find, among others, two couples, six OMHM employees and two young people from the HLMs. The group was made up of Carol Lynn Blair (OMHM), Marie Bouchard (OMHM), Patrick Cournoyer (Gestisoft), N'tchidjè Doumbia (Great Things Studios), Hubert Dubois (CIMA+), Danièle Legault (Marguerite-Bourgeois School Board), Nathalie Morin (OMHM), Benoit Perreault (Gaz Metro Plus), Suzanne Potier (Lacroix Gascon), Marc Sédillot (OMHM), Philippe St-Jacques (OMHM) and Nathalie Thifault (OMHM).

Two young people from HLM at the heart of the adventure

This expedition also enabled two young people from HLMs, Deusdedit Mutima and Erick Reyes-Cano, to make the trip and enjoy a highly significant experience for their personal development. In fact, one of the participants, N'tchidjè Doumbia, was among the young adults who took part in the first expedition to Bolivia in 2013. Today, he owns an audiovisual production company. In fact, this activity ties in with the OMHM Foundation's values of surpassing oneself and achieving self-fulfillment, important values to pass on to young people.

"The funds raised will enable us to support a large number of young people in their academic learning and then give them the means to blossom and develop their full potential," expressed Fabien Cournoyer, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the OMHM Foundation. "It's by equipping and supporting a society's youth that we make it better."

The OMHM Foundation warmly thanks all participants for their efforts, self-sacrifice and support for the cause of young people in low-income housing, as well as all donors and sponsors: Cima+, Clinique hévéa, Club Rotary du Vieux-Montréal, Distribution Claude Couture and Voyage Vasco, who contributed to the success of this magnificent initiative.
