A word from our Spokesperson
A cause I cherish: Academic success
For the past few years, I have acted as Spokesperson for a cause that is dear to me: the academic success of young people living in OMHM housing.
We may not always realize it, but encouraging our youth to stay in school, will ensure the future of our communities. When I think of the many students who, by a simple stroke of bad luck, grow up in less stimulating environments, or live in poverty, I’m saddened. These young talents have just as much potential as others. They may simply need a little more motivation and an added hand to help boost their self-confidence.
This is the mission that Fondation La Clé fosters. Time spent with these youngsters and those who receive the Foundation’s support allow me to proudly say the next generation is looking good. The Foundation changes lives in concrete and tangible ways and gives these kids access to leisure, activities and services of all kinds.
Thanks to the Foundation, girls and boys flourish, make their dreams come true and become involved citizens, benefiting society as a whole. In exercising my role at the CF Montreal Academy (formerly the Montreal Impact), I have been fortunate to have the opportunity to work with young people on a daily basis and of seeing them grow and emancipate into knowledgeable and accomplished young adults. I strongly believe in the younger generation that will be tomorrow’s work force. They are motivated and will achieve great projects.
For our part, let’s give them the tools and create the conditions they need to thrive and reach their full potential. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping to bring back the sparkle to so many young people’s eyes.
